Proton X70. You see one on the road, you think “kya hai yeh?” Looks smart. Solid build. Features packed. 2026 model hai. Price? 67-93 lakh depending on variant and city .

But bhai, yeh gaari deserves more attention. Kyun nahi le rahe log? Kyun Sportage, Tucson, H6 ki bheed mein X70 gum ho gayi?

Mein ne research ki. Owners se poocha. Specs check kiye. Forums parhay.

Yeh hai sach. Ganda sach. Messy sach.

The Price. Bhai, Kitne Ki Hai?

Price is complicated. Multiple variants. Multiple cities.

Ex-factory price: Around PKR 6.8 million to 7.7 million .

But on-road? Bhai, woh alag khel hai.

  • Kia Sportage: 90-95 lakh . Similar price.
  • Haval H6: 90 lakh-1.1 crore . Similar.

  • MG HS: 95 lakh-1 crore . Similar.

Toh X70 price competitive hai. Thora mehnga lagta hai? Kyunke brand awareness kam hai. Log Sportage ko pehchan te hain. X70 ko nahi.

The Smart Features. Bhai, Kya Kya Hai?

Yeh wala part impressive hai. 2026 X70 has “smart SUV” title. Kyunke :

Engine & Performance:

  • 1.5L i-GT Turbocharged engine. 181 horsepower.
  • 290 Nm torque. Bhai, power hai.
  • 0-100 km/h: 9.8-10.22 seconds.
  • Top speed: 180-205 km/h.

Transmission: 7-speed wet dual-clutch (DCT). Better than dry DCT. Cooling achi hai. Reliability better.

Suspension: Front MacPherson Strut. Rear Multi-link. Comfortable.

Safety: Bhai, full package :

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Brake Assist
  • Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
  • Traction Control System
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • Hill Start Assist
  • Hill Descent Control

Another owner: “a really cool car in this budget… don’t even think about sportage or Tucson” .

Features ke hisaab se? Bhai, Sportage aur Tucson se zyada hai. Kuch features toh luxury cars mein bhi nahi hote. Ventilated seats? 64-color ambient lighting? 360 camera? Is price mein? Impressive.

The Fuel Average. Bhai, Kitni Deti Hai?

Yeh wala part thora disappointing hai. Official figures:

City: 10-12 km/l .
Highway: 14-15 km/l .

PakWheels reports 10 km/l in city, 12 km/l on highway .

OLX says 10-12 km/l combined .

Real world? Expect 10 km/l in city traffic. 12-13 on long drives. Toh 10-12 ke beech mein.

Petrol 280+ ka hai. Math karo:

Rozana 20 km city drive: 2 liters per day. 560 rupees. Monthly 16,800. Sirf petrol.

Sportage bhi 9-10 deti hai. H6 bhi 10-12. X7 bhi 10-12. MG HS bhi 10-12. Sab same range mein hain.

So fuel average is average. Not terrible. Not great. Competitors jitni hi hai.

The After-Sales Problem. Bhai, Yeh Wala Bara Hai.

Yeh wala part hai jo log nahi lete. Kyunke dar hai.

Search results se direct pata chalta hai :

Dealership problems: “Many buyers complain about poor service quality, lack of responsiveness, and multiple service visits without proper fixes. Some report service experiences that made the car worse or left issues unresolved.”

Bhai, yeh bara issue hai. Gaari le lo. Service center jao. Unresponsive. Or theek karte hain? Aur kharab kar dete hain.

Parts availability : “Users report limited availability of replacement parts, especially outside major cities. This can make repairs slow and sometimes expensive because parts must be ordered.”

PakWheels ne bhi likha hai: “What we don’t like – Lack of spare parts due to Covid restrictions in Malaysia, Delivery Issues” .

But yeh 2024-2025 ki baat hai. 2026 mein? Improvement hai. But trust nahi bana.

Brand support issues : “There are reports of dealership closures and poor support coverage, making after-sales care uncertain.”

Proton Pakistan entered in 2018 through Al-Haj Automotive. Dealership network hai major cities mein . But closures bhi hui hain. Kuch dealerships band ho gayi. So customers stranded.

Dealership coverage limited : Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan. Itnay hi cities hain. Baqi cities mein? No dealership. Agar aap Sargodha mein rehte ho, Multan mein, Faisalabad mein? Tension hai.

One owner summed up: “After-sales and parts support has been a major pain point for many owners due to dealership issues, inconsistent service quality, and parts delays” .

So bhai, X70 features mein smart hai. Lekin after-sales mein? Not smart. This is why log nahi le rahe.

The Resale Value. Kya Hoga?

Yeh wala part improving hai. Slowly.

Media Bites report : “Resale value is often a concern with new entrants in the automotive market. The Proton X70’s resale value is gradually improving as more units hit the road and brand recognition grows. Buyers who maintain their vehicles well and keep service records updated can expect solid returns in the future.”

“Gradually improving.” Means abhi nahi hai. But ho raha hai.

Compare with Sportage? Sportage resale strong hai. H6 developing hai . X70 same category mein hai. Developing. Not strong.

Kyun : “Buyers who maintain their vehicles well and keep service records updated can expect solid returns.”

Toh agar aap gaari maintain rakhoge, service records rakhoge, dealer pe hi service karwaoge? Resale thora better hoga.

But bhai, Toyota jaisi nahi hai. Kia jaisi bhi nahi hai. Abhi time lage ga.

How It Compares to Rivals.

X70 vs Kia Sportage.

Sportage resale stronger. Dealer network bigger. Parts availability better. But Sportage features kam hain. X70 mein ventilated seats, 360 camera, ambient lighting hai. Sportage mein nahi. Sportage price similar hai. Thora kam. X70 thora mehnga.

X70 vs Haval H6.

H6 HEV fuel average 15-18. X70 10-12. H6 wins on fuel. H6 hybrid variant has better resale. X70 features zyada hain. H6 interior bhi acha hai. Dono similar price.

X70 vs Oshan X7.

X7 sasta hai. 7 seats hai. X70 5 seats. X70 more powerful (181 vs 185 similar). X7 parts availability bhi issue hai. Dono Chinese/Malaysian. Dono after-sales weak.

X70 vs MG HS.

MG HS resale thora better. Dealer network similar. MG features bhi achi hain. X70 interior better? Ventilated seats? Debate hai.

X70 vs Toyota Corolla Cross.

Corolla Cross hybrid fuel average 18-20. Resale strong. Toyota reliability. But price zyada hai. Corolla Cross 1 crore+. X70 sasti hai.

The Owner Verdict .

Ghulam Rasool Paracha (Jan 2026): “a really cool car in this budget if you wanted a suv in this budget it’s the best option don’t even think about sportage or Tucson”

Colonel Mirza Shahrukh Baig (Jul 2024): “It is the smartest SUV available in Pakistan, maximum features to be available in any SUV A genuine SUV with best built quality as compared to Chinese and Korean SUV very tough and turbo charged”

So owners jo lete hain, woh khush hain. Lekin kitnay le rahe hain? Kam.

The Bottom Line. Kyu Nahi Le Rahe Log?

Bhai, X70 deserves more attention because:

  1. Features package is unbeatable at this price. Ventilated seats. 360 camera. Ambient lighting. Sunroof. 181 horsepower. Safety features full .
  2. Build quality is tough. “Very tough and turbo charged” . Malaysian build quality is better than Chinese? Some say yes.
  3. Engine is powerful. 181 PS. 290 Nm torque. 0-100 in 9.8 seconds . Sportage? 155 horsepower. H6? 150-180 depending on variant.
  4. Interior feels premium. Nappa leather. Soft-touch materials. Ambient lighting. Digital cluster .

Toh kyun nahi le rahe?

Reasons:

  1. After-sales service weak . Dealerships unresponsive. Parts delays. Service quality inconsistent. People scared.
  2. Parts availability limited . Outside major cities, mushkil hai. Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad mein theek hai. Baqi? Tension.
  3. Dealership closures. Some dealerships closed. Customers stranded. Trust khatam.
  4. Resale value developing . Not strong yet. Log Sportage lete hain kyunke bechna easy hai. X70 bechna mushkil hai.
  5. Brand recognition low. Proton is Malaysian. Log “Chinese” samajhte hain. Trust nahi.

Buy X70 if:

  • Features chahiye, budget 90 lakh-1 crore hai
  • Aap major city mein rehte ho (dealership access)
  • After-sales risk le sakte ho
  • Gaari rakhni hai 4-5 saal (resale short-term nahi sochte)
  • Sportage, H6 se hat ke kuch chahiye

Don’t buy X70 if:

  • After-sales support matter karti hai (peace of mind chahiye)
  • Parts availability ka dar hai
  • Resale value top priority hai
  • Aap small city mein rehte ho (no dealership)
  • Service center ke saath ladai nahi karni

My honest driver opinion.

Bhai, X70 is a hidden gem. Features, power, build quality — sab acha hai. Price bhi competitive hai.

Lekin bhai, gaari sirf lena nahi hai. Rakhna bhi hai. Service karni hai. Parts badalnay hain. Bechna bhi hai.

Agar aap Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad mein rehte ho, dealership ke paas, risk le sakte ho? X70 le lo. Maaza ayega. Log dekhenge “kya hai yeh?” Tum bologe “Proton X70. Smart SUV.”

Agar aap small city mein rehte ho, ya peace of mind chahiye, ya resale matter karti hai? Sportage le lo. H6 le lo. Zyada dengay. Lekin sukoon mile ga.

One owner said: “don’t even think about sportage or Tucson I persnaly said it’s better than my civic rebirth” .

Another owner worried about service. Forum pe pooch raha hai: “Dealership service quality? Parts delays?” .

Yahi difference hai. Jo lete hain, woh khush hain. Jo nahi lete, woh dar rahe hain.
